An obvious place to enjoy is the region around Lemvig in Northwestern Jutland between
the Lim Fiord, the North Sea, Nissum Fiord and the forest called Klosterheden Plantation.
Here you find plains, so-called mountains around Lemvig, hills and waves, dunes and a long coast line together with one of Denmark’s biggest plantations, Klosterheden.

If you enjoy spending your free time on horseback, we have the opportunities, the horses and the perfect area.
If you do not ride on a regular basis and perhaps want to take up an old interest again,
the three-day long riding holiday as well as the shorter rides are perfect for you.

Lemvig Tourist Office organizes three-day riding holidays round Nissum Fiord, shorter rides in the coastal area or in the forest, or we can also offer a tailor-made riding holiday for you and
your friends if you are at least six people in total.

Riding holiday: Round Nissum Fiord in three days on an Icelandic horse
Enjoy nature up close with the beautiful Icelandic horses and other riding enthusiasts.
Three days and 70 kilometres on the horses of the Gods.

The Icelandic horse will carry you around Nissum Fiord on a unique trip including all meals, accommodation and a wonderful Icelandic horse (or perhaps your own horse).
Accommodation takes place in nature schools and summer cottages and often in common rooms. Here you can see dates and prices for the ride.

Shorter rides in the forest or by the North Sea.
Rides in the forest
In the plantation of Klosterheden, just south of Lemvig, Lemvig Tourist Office arranges Safari on the Horses of the Gods. The tours on an Icelandic horse last three hours in total where you saddle up and then ride off into the forest where you can get close to nature.
The ride is suitable for both adults and children, and we recommend that children must be over 10 years old. Everybody should have some riding experience, but you do not need to be an expert in any way.
If you would like to bring younger children along, please contact Lemvig Tourist Office and we will try to sort things out.

The tour takes place in summer, mainly on Tuesday and Thursday.
